Lisa Yasui

Lisa Yasui

Cello Faculty

A Boston-based cellist and a graduate of Boston University, Lisa found her passion for sharing the joy of music during her undergraduate studies where she taught both group and individual lessons at public and private institutions. She is currently an active teacher and performer throughout Boston and strives to build a creative and safe environment for students where they can learn and grow, through a well-rounded curriculum that balances a strong emphasis on technical proficiency through the Suzuki method, while simultaneously developing a student’s own individual sense of creativity.

OUR STUDENTS LOVE US!

My 14-year-old daughter has been taking violin lessons from Celia Zhang for two years. Celia is a great teacher with a lot of patience and deep insight. She opened the Village Youth Conservatory this year (2022) to expand music programs such as voice, guitar, and chamber music. Celia has been great for my daughter who had hit a plateau 2 years ago. In just a month learning violin from Celia, my daughter started to improve and she is now a first violinist in the Junior Repertory Orchestra (JRO), one of the orchestras of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO). Celia is always quick to respond to any questions, and she has a knack for teaching music concepts and music interpretation in a way that is easy for children and teenagers understand without sacrificing depth or sophistication. She has been great for my daughter and I strongly recommend Celia and the Village Youth Conservatory for anyone with an interest in music performance.
