Private Lessons
One-on-One with Instructor
Private Lessons occur once a week at your regular time for 30/45/60 minutes (your choice), where your individual instructor will customize a lesson plan to suit your personal level, interests and needs.

Studio Class
Group Sharing
Complimentary with your private lessons fee, this once a month class is open to all VYCo students to share their in-progress works with their peers. The warm and friendly environment is a favorite among current students! All instruments are welcome, as are family audience members. Classes are currently hybrid, both in-person and online via Zoom link.
Masterclasses and Performances Access
Ample Performance Opportunities
Tuition also includes participation in our two annual Recitals and access to our Masterclasses. Our Masterclasses are held with guest artists - top performers around the country - past examples include Kevin Lin (Concertmaster, Indianapolis symphony), Nikki Chooi (Concertmaster, Buffalo Philharmonic), and William Shaub (Concertmaster, Knoxville Symphony).
TUITION & POLICIES
Tuition
At VYCo, tuition varies by faculty's experience:

1. Senior Faculty | $120/hr (30 minutes - $60, 45 minutes - $90)
Conservatory-trained instructors with strong teaching experience.
Most families start here.

2. Principal Faculty | $150/hr (30 minutes - $75, 45 minutes - $112.50)
Highly experienced teachers with training from top conservatories (Juilliard, NEC, Yale) and strong performance résumés.
Ideal for intermediate–advanced students, or beginners who need more scheduling flexibility.

3. Director Faculty | $170/hr (30 minutes - $85, 45 minutes - $127.50)
Studio leadership and our most experienced educators.
Ideal for committed students seeking long-term progression.

We’ll match you with the best available teacher for your schedule and goals. If multiple options are open, we’ll walk you through them.

Inclusions / Calendar
We only charge for classes. No registration fees, recital fees, late payment fees, etc. A fair approach to pricing:

VYCo adamantly believes in prorated lesson rates at a consistent hourly basis, and refuses to profit off the common markup of shorter lessons - why should a family of two half hour siblings pay more than a family with one full hour?

Our rates are set to enable us to attract and retain the most engaging and inspiring teachers for our students.

Lessons are provided year-round and not tied to the academic school year.

Billing
Tuition is billed monthly in advance, based on the number of weeks in that month — no long contracts, no pressure, just exceptional instruction and a community your family can grow with. Payment is due before the first lesson of the month.

Location​
Due to safety and liability precautions, we do not offer lessons in students' homes. Our lesson options are either at our VYCo location, or online via provided link.
